Falling For the Cariboo? Here’s a sneak peak at what awaits
Our Town
100 Mile House is a small town with a big heart — where the barista knows your name, neighbours wave as they pass by, and adventure is never far from your doorstep. Surrounded by forests, lakes, and endless trails, it’s a place where community and nature live side by side. You’ll find local shops full of charm, restaurants serving comfort food, and events that bring everyone together — from rodeos to car shows. 100 Mile is not just a place to visit — it’s a place to belong.
The Lakes Around 100 Mile House
The South Cariboo is truly lake country — with many lakes within a short drive, there’s a perfect spot for every season. From the calm blue waters of Lac la Hache and Canim Lake, to the peaceful charm of Horse Lake and Bridge Lake, these places are made for fishing, paddling, and unplugging. Whether you’re launching a boat at dusk, skating on glassy winter ice, or sitting around a campfire with friends, our lakes are where memories are made.
Downtown 100 Mile House & Murals
Our downtown core is full of small-town charm — local shops, friendly faces, and a pace that makes you want to slow down and stay awhile. You can grab a coffee from one of the cozy cafés, pop into the boutiques and local businesses along Birch Avenue, and always find someone to chat with along the way.
As you wander, keep an eye out for the murals that decorate our buildings — each one tells a story about life in the Cariboo. From nods to our ranching roots and wildlife to scenes celebrating our forests and lakes, the murals turn a simple walk downtown into a little art tour of our history and spirit.
Centennial Park
Right in the heart of 100 Mile House, Centennial Park is a local favourite for a reason. With its beautiful waterfall, forested trails, picnic areas, and wide-open green space — it’s where locals gather for walks, markets, and summer concerts. You’ll often find families playing by the creek, couples taking sunset photos, and kids chasing bubbles on the lawn. It’s the perfect place to slow down and breathe in a little Cariboo fresh air.
